4 Reasons why we formed this group

1. There is an overwhelming concern in the community about quality of life problems we face and an equally overwhelming desire for changes.

2. Our voices are not reaching government; we want to make our needs heard and to state our opinions before projects are implemented.

3. We do not just want to complain, we are ready to participate in the solution.

4. The continuous improvement of Viejo SJ is in the best interest of all Puerto Ricans. It is of historical importance, a source of pride, and a tourist attraction that helps drive the Island’s economy.

Action Plan

Working together is the solution to strengthen our community. An action plan has been prepared as a template for how our organization will approach objectives it undertakes. With the support of the Advocate’s Board, committees will proceed with this step-by-step process to change. It is our intent to cooperate with government to accomplish common objectives. We will also work with the media to communicate to the public our efforts and the course that they run. Our website will be a powerful tool to unite residents, merchants, and visitors.

Who can Participate?

Individual Members - residents, business and property owners of Viejo San Juan; who must actively participate in a committee.

Organizational Members - private corporations, non-profits, schools, churchs, etc. that operate in Viejo SJ may have representation at meetings.

Sponsors - non-members who financially contribute in support of the Advocates.

Will It Work?

Yes! It is working for “Renace Condado,” an organization similar to ours that works to improve quality of life in Condado. If it can be done in Condado – it can be done in Old San Juan!
